The Certified Fraud Examiner of the Year Award is presented to a CFE who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the field of fraud examination.

As an officer for the Independent Commission Against Corruption, this year’s winner has displayed outstanding financial investigative ability.

The Hubbard Award is named after the late ACFE Regent Emeritus and professor of accountancy at the University of Nebraska, Dr. Thomas Hubbard. The award is given for an outstanding work published in Fraud Magazine during the past year.

The winning article this year was entitled, "Dark world of oil theft and fraud,” by Anastasia Nazarova.

Last year the #FeedAFamily program, founded by ACFE member Shahid Yakub, distributed a total of 3,500 food hampers in Kenya — enough food for up to 15,000 people for a month.

The James R. Baker Speaker of the Year Award is named for an ACFE faculty member who taught hundreds of classes and instructed thousands of anti-fraud professionals.

A dynamic and insightful presenter, Bret Hood speaks both in the U.S. and abroad at industry events, and is a faculty member for the ACFE.

The ACFE Educator of the Year Award is presented to an educator who has made an outstanding contribution in the development of anti-fraud education.

For his work encouraging students to join the anti-fraud profession through education and mentoring, the ACFE is excited to present the Educator of the Year Award to Lawrence Hoffman.

The ACFE is strong because of its more than 190 chapters in 70 countries. Chapters act as local representatives of the ACFE, providing continued support for members worldwide. They allow members to connect and collaborate with other fraud fighters in their area, and to participate in local programs and events that promote awareness of the profession. Chapters help fraud fighters stay at the forefront of local anti-fraud issues and emerging trends.

Every year, the ACFE recognizes exceptional individuals for their contributions to the fight against fraud. These professionals provide an inspiration to others, and we are proud to honor them for their service. To kick off this year’s 31st Annual ACFE Virtual Global Fraud Conference coverage, we’ll be highlighting each of the ACFE’s 2020 award winners.
