2025 Chapter Community Outreach and Service Award: New York

The Chapter Community Service and Outreach Award is presented to an Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) chapter that has contributed to and volunteered in projects that improved their community. This award recognizes local chapters that demonstrate a commitment of time or donations to charitable causes or organizations.

This year, the Chapter Community Outreach and Service Award is presented to the ACFE New York Chapter for their dedication to educating the next and current generation of fraud fighters.

The ACFE New York Chapter donated $2,500 to the Justice for Fraud Victims Project (JFVP) fund, contributing to their efforts in providing pro bono services to those affected by fraud by collaborating with students, institutions and anti-fraud professionals. The chapter’s contributions to the JFVP also go towards aiding other higher education institutions in setting up a similar program. The chapter hopes their contribution will help expand the JFVP to other schools and bring justice to victims of fraud, as well as aid students gaining experience in fraud investigations and eventually joining the anti-fraud workforce.

In addition, the ACFE New York Chapter demonstrated their commitment towards education by donating $15,000 to the ACFE Foundation to help the ACFE provide scholarships to aspiring anti-fraud professionals and fund research grants to expand the profession’s body of knowledge. The chapter also invited more than 20 college students to attend the 35th Annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference for free. The chapter also hosted a free virtual event during the ACFE’s International Fraud Awareness Week to help educate their community on elder fraud.

The New York Chapter has made significant contributions to their community and is actively involved in spreading fraud awareness and training in New York City and the surrounding metro area.

Congratulations to the ACFE New York Chapter!
