ACFE Hall of Fame 2022

The ACFE Hall of Fame award recognizes a fraud fighter who has taken the anti-fraud profession to a new level. This award was created to acknowledge someone whose work spans decades and is a reminder that what we do is vital to the global fight against fraud. The award encapsulates the very definition of what it means to be an anti-fraud professional.

Martin Biegelman is a former federal law enforcement professional with a lifetime of investigative, security, management and consulting experience. After 22 years as a U.S. Postal Inspector, he joined the private sector where he founded and led Microsoft’s highly acclaimed global business conduct investigations and compliance program — which continues to serve as a model for other organizations.

In 2008, he was appointed by the Governor of Washington to serve as a member of the Washington State Executive Ethics Board. In 2010, he received an Honorary Doctor of Law degree from Utica College for leadership and his lifetime contributions to fraud prevention and anti-corruption compliance.

He has been a CFE since 1995 and has authored six books and more than 30 published articles on fraud and security-related subjects. He served as a member and Vice-Chair on the ACFE Board of Regents, sat on the Board of Directors for the ACFE Foundation and is a past recipient of the ACFE’s Cressey Award.

For all these reasons and more, the ACFE is honored to induct Martin Biegelman into the ACFE Hall of Fame.
